Rant: Some people make me so mad!! Grrr

Thursday, October 8, 2009

My sis recently went out to a club with some of her coworkers to celebrate a birthday. Here's the thing though; I really don't like her manager - I think she's flaky, selfish, lazy, dumb and someone who creates unnecessary drama. And I've only said hi to her in passing. Once.

I'm not out to judge people but this woman has my sis and all the other assistant managers working extra hard to cover for her lazy ass but they don't benefit in any way whatsoever! She once called my sister in (on my sister's day off even though my sis works more than 30 hours and is taking 5 classes at her uni!) to cover the last part of her shift (2 hours) because she can't find a babysitter for her toddler. Except for the fact that:

a) She had more than enough time to find a babysitter since as manager, she does all the scheduling,
b) She had already completed most of her shift (6 hours) at the store with the kid running around.

What irks me the most was that when my sis went in for those last 2 closing hours, her ass of a manager didn't head home - she went to Ross instead for some retail therapy!!! WTF?!?

And that is just one example of what a crappy person she is.

Anyway, my sis goes out with another coworker (they didn't really want to) and this manager to celebrate the manager's birthday only to find out that it's not her birthday but her best friend's birthday. The manager also spends the night getting smashed and it's up to my sis and her coworker to take care of her and make sure she doesn't flash people in the club.

The club closes and they're walking down the street. Out of nowhere, they see the manager's Loser baby daddy (don't even get me started on the drama this woman creates by keeping a man like him around) and his friends walking towards them and calling out to her. Of course there is an argument and the girl he's cheating on her with (one of many apparently) slaps the manager. My sis, in trying to stop her manager from heading towards the group, is grabbed by two of the Loser's friends. Not really one of my sister's smartest moves (and she admits it too) but she was just trying to help a friend. One of the guys who had grabbed my sis pushes her; causing her to hit a wall before landing in a stunned heap on the ground. Luckily, this chick who was just standing there punches the guy and well, game over. K.O. Thank goodness since things could have been much worse.

Long story short; the cops came and when my sis didn't want to press charges (for several reasons...*cough* she had my id *cough*) they got the guy anyway. Apparently, on top of being drunk and on cocaine, he was most probably illegal too. My sister's manager didn't once ask her if she was okay. Instead, she ranted about how she got slapped, started crying, started talking smack about what she would do to the girl who had slapped her, then left with the Loser without telling my sis or the other coworker and didn't answer their phone calls. Also, the manager did not have the decency to apologise the next day when she saw them at work. Of course, there's more to the story than what I've written here but this is the gist of it.

That is what makes me totally mad and if I ever see her, I'm tempted to tell her exactly what I think of her. Loudly. Multiple times. While throwing things at her. Unfortunately, that will never happen (especially the last part) since I'm so passive-aggressive it's painful. And I'd probably go to jail for it. However, all passive-aggressive people have their limits and I get super upset when people mess with my family so, I might go in and quietly (aggressively!) let her know....after my sis has stopped working there, of course. Maybe. I'll work on it.

For the time being, I'm beating her to a pulp with a club in my mind. Anger management issues? Who? Me?

Needless to say, while my sis has always been wary of being friends with her manager, she is not ever going to consider it now. Yay!! I think my sis is kind of a smart cookie but sometimes she can be slow. Huh. You have no idea how ironic that was coming from me. If the blog title and address haven't clued you in, then you're even worse than I am and urm ... I can sympathise with that.

On a lighter note, I made Yong Tau Foo the next day (totally a coincidence) so, a little comfort food made everything a lot better better :) Pictures coming soon!
